OpsBase 903Download Problems

Do Owner Drivers / Operators need Accounting Software?
By using the OpsBase transport software, book keeping time will be slashed. You will no longer need a separate accounts package to handle day to day operations. However it is recommended that you use the OpsBase 903 software and leave other functions to your accountant or trained book-keeper.

OpsBase for instance allows users to delegate work. When delegating to employee`s you need to use an accounting package setup for wages, superannuation, many other changing variables. OpsBase allows the work delegation only. The 2 software types co-exist. Put in other terms OpsBase value adds to any accounting package.

How User Friendly is the OpsBase Software?
OpsBase is very simple to learn and operate. No heavy learning curve. The process design has focused on user productivity with minimum keystrokes, reusable menu and intuitive data use options significantly reducing the time and effort required to complete a task at hand.

How does OpsBase influence the Two Fundamentals of Transport?
The two fundamentals are Performing income producing activity, and Getting Paid for the work completed. Just because you like the transport industry and driving does not mean you are a book keeper, or business guru. OpsBase allows you to be efficient, and to do a good job with the admin tasks. Customers will appreciate the change.

Is Information Quality Enhanced?
OpsBase will give your customers faster, more detailed and better presented invoices. Customer, driver and work activity records data will be more productively handled. If you have ever had a customer service enquiry without access to the required information you will know how frustrating and time consuming it is. OpsBase can help in direct and subtle ways, even opening doors to opportunity missed previously.

Does OpsBase assist Collaboration within the industry?
OpsBase users find it a simple process to delegate or outsource, offload, sub-contract and on-forward. They can also delegate per activity or even a separate leg of a process movement. As such they can grow beyond the limits of one driver with one vehicle. A group of owner drivers, small operators can collaborate, to service customer contract requirements, without swamping the too hard basket.

Is there real Value for Money?
By any stretch of the imagination investing in OpsBase will pay for itself. It will do so in a few ways:

• Reduced costs of book-keeping ( time, effort and cost if a book keeping service is used)OpsBase also offers more features that are beneficial and relevant.

• Accounting is now a simplified process offering 3 category levels. Several intuitive and automated processes reduce time and effort.

• Reduce your Accountants BAS and Annual bill.

• Customer service handling. Any details required are at your disposal whilst your customer is still on the phone.

Why does OpsBase handle Sales Commissions?
Owner Drivers / Operators must service paying customers to earn cashflow, revenue. Customers come in all shapes and sizes. The transport industry is very big on word of mouth. As a rule you grow through your own efforts. You cannot be everywhere so why not offer incentives to all your contacts to push business your way. Offer everyone you know a commission on any work they refer your way. Its very easy, and promotes goodwill to your business and yourself. Excess work is easily delegated using OpsBase software.

How can an Owner Driver operate like a major Business?
An owner driver / operator is in a business, not a hobby. The vehicle is an income producing asset, providing you as an operator develop good income producing work for it. The scale or volume of work is much less, however the opportunities and flexibility is increased. The time is coming quickly when a truck will be better financed by an owner driver working in addition to one or more drivers on a casual, part or full-time basis. It does not matter if they are employed or contracted. Those in transport prefer the road and self employment, to the office world or a job with little control or opportunity. The main point is to work smarter and compete on service!

The future of OpsBase Software?
To date OpsBase has been in continuous improvement. With new regulations and other requirements by customers, there will be more improvements to come. Industry and user feedback is very beneficial. It is an evolutionary process built on timeless processes. Each OpsBase version to date has offered improved feature lists and functionality. This makes each version easier to use and more beneficial than the previous one.

When the GFC Global Financial Crisis occurred negotiations with potential investors were underway. The aim being to really push forward in features, functions and value for money. Development has been slowed since then. Now in Feb 2013 the next step has rekindled forward momentum.

OpsBase 705 is single user, are there other options?
Yes a Multi user version is available with pricing by request. The same applies to all versions of OpsBase.

What are the Software System Requirements?
OPTION 1) - Online Downloads (Beta, Basic, Plus and Pro Versions)
  • Users will require Microsoft Access version 2002 or later installed. Or included within the Microsoft Office Pro application suite if this is installed.

  • The software is designed to work on Windows operating systems (XP or later recommended!)

  • Your Language settings must be on English (Australian).

  • After downloading and testing the software you will be in an excellent position to decide on any purchase, without hassle or commitment!

Or (if you don’t have Microsoft access installed!)

OPTION 2) - Mail Order of a Physical CD Version
  • If you do not have Microsoft Access 2002 or later installed, or Microsoft Office Pro (which includes Access 2002 or later) you will need to purchase a CD version of OpsBase 705.

  • There is no download of the full OpsBase 705 application as the CD version includes an Access 2002Runtime. A Runtime version is required to operate on computers which do not have Microsoft Access installed.

I cannot operate the software I downloaded?
A few reasons may exist: (On Earlier Versions of OpsBase Pre Feb 13)
  • You do not have Microsoft Access 2002 or later version installed. Earlier Access versions will not work!

  • You may be trying to work a runtime version with an MS Access version also installed! Microsoft Access will not work with more than one version installed on the computer, either Full or Runtime versions!

  • Your Language settings may be incorrectly set. It must be set to English(Australian).

  • In 2012 problems were experienced concerning Automatic updates of security settings and macro warnings. These were not application problems. They were changes to Windows System operating requirements. The current OpsBase 903 offering started with these problems in its upgrade. We collaborated with international 3rd party suppliers to make using OpsBase 903 very user friendly.

  • You may have failed to enter a Work Supplier and / or a customer. Prior to trying to enter data.

I need to consider the software before I purchase / invest, is this a problem?
Being able to try before you invest, you can review without any hassles, risk or commitment. Customer satisfaction and Peace of Mind is the priority at OpsBase Systems P/L. If the value is not obvious after giving it a test run of your own creation don’t purchase the software. The FREE Demo Download is anonymous if used. If your not sure ask your questions via email.

Why cant I enter customer / booking data from my laptop onto my desktop?
OpsBase is designed to be used on either the home desktop computer or on a drivers laptop computer, not both. It is a single user system not a multi user or network system. Trying this could cause data corruption problems. At a minimum there will be job numbering problems and at worst a full system corruption. Owner Drivers usually have only a single computer. The same applies to most Owner Operators as well. Contact OpsBase should you seek a multi user or network system.

I think we have corrupted the data file or something, what can be done?
All databases can be corrupted without exception. However a few points:
  • Prevention is better than cure. ALWAYS yes ALWAYS backup your computer data on a regular if not daily / weekly basis. This allows the easiest fix by enabling a full and rapid restart with minimal loss of data.
  • Contact OpsBase by email with full details and we will offer advice or if relevant correct the problem. (Extra cost however!)

What can I use the FREE DEMO download for?
The free demo download offer is limited to 100 bookings, 100 Accounting Transactions all in the Demo company name.
(It is suggested you test using your own real details to prevent double entry should you like the OpsBase software, and purchase it!)

Microsoft Vista Problems
This application is designed for users of Windows XP-Service Pack 2 or later. We do not recommend using Microsoft Vista as several unwanted effects occur. However if you do use Vista you will require the Microsoft Access 2007 Runtime available through the Microsoft Downloads website.

Using the new current FREE OpsBase 903 download is recommended. Even Microsoft decided the Vista offering too unfriendly for the average user.

Fuel Levies
OpsBase has catered for Fuels levies billed to retail and trade customers. Also Fuel Levies paid to contractors and service suppliers are covered.

Cost Recovery
OpsBase offers detailed invoicing delivered in an easy to read and create manner.

Using OpsBase Invoicing will enable both better customer relations whilst still itemising incurred expenses that are not included in the initial quote / estimate. Being itemised and detailed on the customer invoice allows the customer to better understand the claimed expense amount.

Windows 7 Users
Users of Windows 7 must have selected 32bit as the operating system option and not the 64bit option. OpsBase is not a 64 bit software application.
